Do YOU know the difference?

Today, let’s talk subtle differences and boundaries.
Before starting off with the expression of my thoughts, I’d like to give you a small example of what I’m about to explain.
What is the difference between edible and eatable?
Yes, there IS a difference.
Edible - Fit to be eaten. (Often used to contrast with unpalatable or poisonous varieties)
Use- The shrub has small edible berries.
Eatable - Items of food.
Use- Eatables and drinks are not allowed in the auditorium.

This example completely sums up what I’m about to express.
Not many people give this enough attention, but there’s a subtle difference between being alone and being lonely. I found this interesting enough to write on, because many people fail to understand that being alone is not about being sad and being depressed. In fact, it’s not even close to any of that. It’s blissful, magical and fun. Because of one of the most amazing powers of a human being called “imagination”. Our mind is capable of imagining so much more than “ifs” and “buts” of the past and “What ifs” of the future. Also, being alone gives a sense of comfort. It is necessary for one to be happy with himself to actually be happy with people around. I personally love being alone. I’m the type who likes having her “alone-time” at least once in 2 days. It helps me figure things out and gives me an overview of my life. Introspection is one of my favourite pass-times J That alone guides me into deeper thinking. Introspection is like the process of water-purification. As in, all the dirt and impurities settle down at the bottom of the glass and what remains is crystal clear water J
Then why is loneliness confused with aloneness? A person can feel lonely even in a crowd. Loneliness is a different story altogether. When a person feels lonely, he/she misses someone or feels incomplete and needs someone around, to be there for him/her. It’s the feeling of feeling completely lost, with no aim or direction. It usually includes anxiety and lack of connectedness with people. THIS refers to sadness and depression. Which is kind of why it is necessary for a person to be happy with himself.
